Web Design &

Development

About me

My name is Jack Hair, I'm studying Web Development at Staffordshire University and love everything to do with the web.

I first started building websites when I was around 15 or 16 years old. I started web programming fairly late compared to most people, only just getting in to it as I was leaving high school.

I took a multimedia art class during sixth form, which helped me improve my artistic skills in digital media. That sealed the deal for me and from then on decided I wanted to work as a web designer.

Skills

  • XHTML and HTML5
  • CSS2 and CSS3
  • JavaScript and jQuery
  • Use of frameworks and CMS
  • Understanding of PHP and MySQL
  • Understanding of Validation and degredation
  • Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Sony Vegas Video Editing

I have built multiple websites using different methods, some of which are bootstrap, wordpress, xenforo and starting from scratch in Notepad++.

Hobbies

Designing websites was a hobby before I decided I wanted to work in the area, but it's not the only thing I do!

I love digital design and art, whether I'm using software like photoshop and illustrator or using good ol' pencil on paper.

I currently love playing the guitar, learning blues riffs and jamming along to tracks. I also play the drums, bass, ukulele and other odd instruments like the didgeridoo.

I also love riding my bike, anywhere and everywhere. Cycling to uni every day is great fun, especially if it's sunny outside! (Which it rarely is)
